Write for us

United Current Affairs welcomes pitches that make a public question easier to understand. We are interested in clear, original explanations, not hot takes that repeat a familiar argument.

What to pitch

Propose an evergreen explainer about an issue, institution, policy choice, public argument or consequential term. A strong idea has a clear reader question, a defined scope and a useful distinction or framework at its centre.

A useful proposal

Tell us the working title, the main point, why the subject deserves a closer look and what context the piece would need. Say what is known, what is contested and where the explanation should stop. Avoid pitches that depend on invented access, unsupported claims or specialist advice.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please include a short summary and any relevant writing samples you can share. A proposal is not a guarantee of publication, and we may ask for a narrower focus.
